If you have prearranged time with your child(ren)’s teacher(‘s) that will override the below schedule
7:20 Arrive and Check-in at the office. *PLEASE SIGN-IN IN THE WATCH DOG NOTEBOOK
7:30 Report to the library for morning broadcast with your child(ren). At some point during the day, stop in the office with your child(ren) to have your picture taken for the Watch DOG Wall of Fame.
8:00-9:00 “Flex time” (see below for ideas).
9:00-10:30 Assist with younger student recess (Sometimes during inclement weather, recess will be held inside. If this is the case, you can go to individual classes and assist teachers during inside recess.)
10:20-10:40 “Flex Time”-(see below for ideas)
10:40-1:00 Assist in the cafeteria and have lunch with your child.
1:00-1:40 “Flex Time”-(see below for ideas)
1:40-2:40 Monday-Thursday: PE assistance with Dennis DiCarlo in the gym.
Friday: Front Office: Please assist in delivering messages and getting students from classrooms.
**Please return any items to the office before leaving for the day**
“Flex Time” Suggestions:
Check the sign-up calendar in the workroom
Check in with your child(ren)’s teacher to schedule time to volunteer
Read aloud or share/introduce yourself to the class
Walk the halls and check that all doors leading outside are secured and visitors have badges
Check the front office, library and/or the upstairs PRO Center for Volunteer work to be done
Help with recycling in the PRO Center and front office
Reminders:
Be alert- if a situation arises; please report it to the front office.
Use adult restrooms only-available in all main halls and workroom.
Be in a supervised or open area at all times that you are with a student.
Conduct yourself according to our student code of conduct and in a respectful manner at all times.
Be a positive role model. Feel free to pass out paw prints to students with good behavior (appx. 10/day).

Make sure you have completed your annual Criminal Background Check. It is suggested that you communicate directly with your child’s classroom teacher if you are hoping to help in their classroom for part of the day. The Top Dog this year is Mr. Robert Epps.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is an innovative program of the National Center for Fathering focusing on prevention of violence in our nations schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father-figures for a two-fold purpose:
1) to provide an unobtrusive presence in the schools
2) to be a positive and active role-model for students at their school.
WATCH D.O.G.S. was founded by Jim Moore, a concerned father who chose to take action in response to a 1998 middle-school shooting in Jonesboro, AR. Joined with National Center for Fathering in 2006, WATCH D.O.G.S. serves to inspire and equip men to be the involved fathers, grandfathers and father-figures their students need.
